If you make your way down to Cleethorpes Promenade this summer don't be surprised if the scene is… a little unusual.
North East Lincolnshire Council's arts development team has booked a fun-packed programme of street theatre which began on Saturday, April 23, to keep the crowds entertained.
On April 23, the world-famous Natural Theatre Company brought three acts to the town, including a visit from the amazing Coneheads who will were visiting Cleethorpes for the second year running.
Visitors will be able to see street theatre acts in the resort all the way through the summer season until August 27, when visitors can enjoy Scottish giant 'Big Rory' and his naughty dog Ochie as he tells jokes, plays the bagpipes and gets into lots of trouble.
Also, on show for the finale will be the 'giant seagulls'. A pair of seagulls who behave exactly like the real birds, pestering people for food, emptying bins, and calling to each other.
David Power, principal arts officer for North East Lincolnshire Council, said: "Street Theatre is a brilliant way to add an extra bit of colour and interest to the seafront in the summer time.
"There will be a whole host of different acts throughout the tourist season, such as 'Viva Las Wedding', 'Sports Day- the show', 'Granny Turismo' and 'The Big Bad Wolf', all from the Fools Paradise theatre group, providing something for everyone and fun for all the family."
He added: "It's definitely worth getting yourself down to the promenade this summer because you never know what you're going to see or hear!"
All of the performances will take place on selected Saturdays at the pier end of Cleethorpes Promenade, between 11am and 2.30pm.
